SSP OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT
The 2019 SSP Open is proud to announce that South St. Paul Teachers and Coaches Gerry Gustafson and Vic Grabau are the Honorees.
Beginning in 1958, Gerald “Mr Gus” Gustafson worked with SSP Track and Wrestling programs early in his career. In the fall of 1965, he started the Cross Country program at SSP and was the head coach until his retirement in 1987. Coach Gustafson enjoyed “The Process” and seeing student-athletes working towards their personal bests. He still coaches triple jump to high schoolers. He also enjoys golfing and working on crosswords or saduko. He is a member of a rare “club”, he has achieved a sanctioned 300 in bowling and also has two holes-in-one.
Vic Grabau started his teaching and coaching career in South St. Paul in 1963. He was a Phy. Ed. teacher and coached Inner-City football from 1964 to 1968, Basketball from 1968 to 1985, Football from 1968 to 1987, Baseball from 1968 to 1987 and Volleyball in 1985. Vic retired in 1990 after 27 dedicated years in SSP. Today he enjoys fishing, golf, his 2014 Mustang GT convertible and takes care of his wife who suffers from Alzheimer’s. Vic is a strong advocate for Alzheimers research.
The date is Monday, July 15th at Southview Country Club. It all begins with a luncheon at 11am, followed by a golf tournament shotgun start at 12:30pm. The day is capped off with a dinner, a live auction, and a chance to honor these SSP Coaches.
Register before July 1st and save $10 per golfer. The cost, which includes a box lunch, a cart and dinner is only $190 IF you register before July 1, 2019. The cost is $200 per golfer if you register after July 1, 2019.

If you would like to be seated with friends, please have all members of your party register under the same last name (i.e. DINNER ONLY-Smith).
