2020 SSP OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT
Greetings Packer Faithful, Families and Friends,
This spring has been unique and eventful. With these unprecedented events, the South St Paul Activities and Athletics Department will be in greater need of funding from the South St Paul Open Foundation. With that, we want you to know that we WILL have our 37th annual South Saint Paul Open Golf Tournament on Monday, July 20th. However, there are a number of ways we plan to modify our event.
We invite you to play golf on your home course with your own foursomes. Wear Packer gear, take pictures and share with all of us (More details to follow but we will use your photos at the evening event.) We ask for a $50 donation to be included in the golf event and eligible for prizes. Southview Country Club will be providing the prizes for the golf event.
Southview Country Club has been gracious enough to allow non-members to golf the day of the event. You must call Southview Country Club to make a tee time at (651) 451-1169. They will accept tee times for the Open, between 10:00am and 1:00pm on July 20th. Greens fee will be $70 + tax, this includes 18 holes of golf and a cart.
Donations and golf entry fee can be made at our website, sspopen.org or mailed to SSP Open, PO Box 535, SSP MN 55075.
To ensure everyone’s safety and to abide by the CDC and State Health Department guidelines, we are cancelling the dinner and reception.
The Croatian Hall will be hosting a Happy Hour from 5:30-7:30. A portion of the proceeds from the Happy Hour will benefit the South St. Paul Open Foundation. Weather permitting the happy hour will take place on the Cro’s lawn to allow for social distancing. If it must be indoors, capacity will be limited to 75 people to abide by State guidelines. It will be first come first serve.
To ensure that our honoree, Beaver Lick, is honored appropriately. We are deferring the honor until next year’s Open event.
More details to come regarding registration, donations, sponsorships and technology logistics. But at the end of the day what we are most proud of is that we are all moving forward, and we will find a way to take a negative and turn it into a positive. Although we might not physically have 144 people in one room, for this moment, we all get to connect, host far more than 144 golfers and most importantly enjoy each other's time and celebrate the great pride & passion of what connects us all: South Saint Paul Activities and Athletics. Go Packers!
